Two of us

The contents of these ‘blog posts’ began as email messages that Majella wrote and sent to family and friends during our time living and working in the USA during 2001 and 2002. They were mostly weekly accounts of our experiences.

In 2012 I had long service leave and a meeting in Washington DC in early October. We spent September travelling in the northeastern USA and from Niagara to Quebec in Canada.

In 2017 I was preparing for retirement and had sufficient recreation and long service leave to cease work in early July. A week later we flew out to Europe where we stayed until early October, travelling in France, England, Scotland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Austria, and Czechia.

We are not keen cruisers but a cruise seemed the best way to visit Alaska. From there we returned to Seattle to explore a little of Washington state and then flew on to Denver where we visited with friends before having to abandon our travel plans early and return home.

There was a lull in the COVID-19 pandemic and we took advantage of some Qantas offers for flights and accommodation in Tasmania. We spent a week visiting some places we had missed on previous trips.

The Cri du Chat Support Group had planned for their 2021 conference to be in the Adelaide Hills. COVID-19 caused it to be postponed until 2022 and even then flying was uncertain so we drove via western New South Wales and then home via Victoria and the east coast.
