Our last day in Japan was spent exploring a little more of Tokyo. We revisited some places but Lucas made sure we saw some things we would not have seen otherwise.

We had hoped for clearer weather and a chance to see Mt Fuji but it was not to be. Despite missing Fuji we had a very interesting and scenic day.

We arrived in Tokyo a little earlier than expected and spent the afternoon exploring some parts of the city.

Today was a special day of hospitality shared by Eriko and her family. We saw some more of Osaka and shared time with the family in their home.

After a quiet morning on the Shinkansen we had a busy afternoon and evening in Osaka. Eriko and her family took us to places we would not have found on our own.

We rode the Shinkansen to Kokura and enjoyed a visit around Kitakyushu city. Majella enjoyed the TOTO Museum and Lucas explored an historic castle and the Manga Museum.

We travelled by train to Nagasaki today. Visiting the key sites was a time for reflection. Later we rode the Ropeway for a view over the city and surrounds.

We expected to be tired after our overnight flight so had not planned much for today. We are organised for the next day and managed to see some of the local area.

This trip had been in planning for a while and then, suddenly, it was on and there was a flurry of preparation. Now we are on our way.
