Plans are made to be changed. Last night we agreed some changes to what we had planned for today. Then we made more changes for weather. Regardless, we saw a lot to interest us, learned about the region, and had fun.

We covered a lot of ground today. We went north to see the Pinnacles National Park and then south to Bunbury via Perth to exchange our rental car.

Our day at New Norcia was a full one. We visited the museum and gallery, took the walking tour, and then drove out of town to see wildflowers in the wild.

Long flights home

Our flights from Brisbane to Paris via Dubai were long but at least they were on time. When we checked in at CDG for our flights home the flight from Paris to Dubai was listed as ‘on time’ but that soon changed. Back to CDG

Our mission today was to get back to Charles de Gaulle airport by 6 pm as comfortably as possible. We succeeded though there were a few bumps along the way as technology misbehaved again. Now we wait for the long fight home.

Back to France via Germany

Today was mostly about making some of the distance back to Paris. That would have been possible in a day from Switzerland but not something we would want to do before a long flight. Along with driving a bit more than 350 km we managed some sightseeing and Callum completed his mission.

Up the valley and over

We began our homeward journey this morning by driving further east away from Paris but once we had crossed the Furka Pass we headed north and west. The Rhône glacier and pass were both worth a visit despite the challenging driving that Majella managed. We also enjoyed catching up with old friends.

Around Martigny

Today had been planned with Callum in mind. Maêlle met Callum when she came to Toowoomba with Marie-Françoise in 2017 and Lorick is a similar age to Callum and has similar interests including motorcycles. M-F had arranged for Myriam to plan a day that would suit the three of them while the older folk tagged along.
