Day 35 – Washington DC

This morning was scheduled for a SITE executive meeting beginning at 9:30 am in the AACTE offices. The later start allowed us to sleep a little later than usual but we were moving by 7:30 am. After showering I slipped across the street for fresh milk and yoghurt to have with our cereal and brought coffee up from the hotel lobby.

I was out soon after 9:15 am and walked the short distance to the SITE meeting. That lasted until midday when some had to leave and we moved into an EDUsummIT meeting. Sometime after 1:00 pm we moved to Cosi on the corner of H and 14th Streets, where we ate lunch and continued working on plans for EDUsummIT until almost 4:30 pm.

I had told Majella to expect me back around noon but from 11:00 am or so I had been sending her messages to say I would be delayed. Fortunately she had picked up on those and took herself out for lunch and a walk around.

Once I got back to the hotel we relaxed for a bit before going down to enjoy the hotel happy hour and a couple of glasses of complimentary wine. Once that was done we walked out to look for dinner.

Majella decided that she wanted steak since she had not had one in the USA this time. We checked a couple of places before going into the restaurant at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza. We each had the 8 oz Angus fillet with wine and followed that by sharing the chocolate tower dessert before walking back to our hotel to retire for our last night in DC.
