After breakfast in the hotel, Joel and I headed out for our last day of exploration of Vienna. Our first visit was to the Naschmarkt, the food and produce market which Peter had advised us to visit. It is located just behind his conference venue and he has made a number of visits there over the past few days.

This morning I had arranged to meet Doris Ingrisch, a woman who had sent a paper for our Women’s Conference in Toowoomba last year, but who had been unable to get funding to actually make the trip. In our email exchanges she had suggested that if I ever was in Vienna, I should get in touch with her. She arrived...

This morning’s exploration of Vienna commenced with a ride on the Reisenrad, Vienna’s large ferris wheel which has operated since 1897. It is a wonderful old machine and must have been considered an absolutely spectacular attraction when it was first built.

Peter’s blog for the day would consist of “Went to the conference, networked as only I can do. Had fun.” So this is Majella taking over for a few days.
