Boots, buckles and cowboy hats!

We have just arrived home in West Lafayette after two weeks on the road. We drove straight from Nashville to home in 6 hours – a bit amazing considering it took us 6 days driving to get there. When we told people at the conference the way we got there, they all wanted to know who sold us the map!!

Chasing states

After leaving Austin, we headed across the south eastern part of Texas towards Louisiana. Our goal for the day was to get as close to New Orleans as possible, which meant any sightseeing would be done on the fly.

Well howdy y’all I’m practising my Willie Nelson songs to sing along with Murray when we get to Austin, Texas tomorrow, but I’ve had an encounter with Elvis too, so it’s been a rock/western medley of a weekend.

The marmot was right!

Well, my skepticism has all but faded. Just when it looked as though we were really not going to have much winter at all, it seems the marmot actually did know that more was in store, and indeed the big freeze arrived in force last week.
